Meet our new Dentists
Christina Charalambous
Graduated with honors from European University of Cyprus I decide to complete a PG certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry. When it comes to patients, my priority is a positive, pleasant dental experience and a personalised approach since each patient and their smile is special.
After graduation, I decided to move to the United Kingdom and join Shelton Dental Centre without second thoughts. I provide both NHS and Private treatments including Invisalign orthodontics, tooth whitening, composite bonding, veneers, Botox and fillers. My drive is to understand my patient’s needs and wants so I can deliver the best treatment possible, make them happy and leave my dental room always with a smile .
Furthermore, my plans for the future is to expand my knowledge in Dental Implantology and minor surgery techniques.
Outside dentistry I love travelling and exploring different cultures all around the world, spending time with my family and friends and also going to the gym.
Xenia Ttakka
I graduated from European University in Cyprus and joined the Cyprus dental association. I have also completed a PG certificate in aesthetic dentistry. Patient’s wellbeing and safety are my priorities.
I always aim to provide my patients with the best individualized treatment that best suits their requirements. I offer highly aesthetic and good quality restorations both under NHS and private treatment sectors.
My interest in dentistry is prosthodontics which includes crowns, veneers, bridges and dentures. In the future I look forward to expand my knowledge and skills in implants dentistry.
Apart from dentistry I enjoy travelling, swimming, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
Elena Grishova
I graduated from Novosibirsk University (Russia) in 1999, followed by a 2 year taught Master’s degree. After graduation I worked as a general dentist for a year in Novosibirsk before moving to Kaliningrad which is the most western city in Russia, where I had worked at the same clinic for 20 years before moving to England. During this time I regularly visited international conferences, dental shows and courses to keep myself up to date with new technology, instruments and materials.
Since 2009 I also provided Botox and fillers for my patients. Since 2011 till 2022 have worked mainly as a specialist in Endodontics.
In July 2023 I was registered with the UK General Dental Council (GDC) and I am now starting my English dentist career here at Shelton, where I want to apply all my experience and knowledge, and aiming to broaden my knowledge and expertise in Implants and Restorative Dentistry As a dentist I thrive on fixing a problem for my patients, be it to relieve pain or discomfort, or providing a cosmetic fix that gives them a confidence boost.
Meet the Team
Fraser Sutherland
I graduated from Birmingham University in 1990 and immediately joined Shelton Dental Centre, eventually becoming a partner in the practice in 1998.
I successfully passed Royal College of Surgeons exams in 2004 to become a Member of the Faculty of General Dental practitioners.
Since 2004 I have been appointed each year as a trainer / mentor for the Dental Vocational training scheme of the West Midland Deanery, overseeing training of new dental graduates at Shelton Dental Centre. This lead me in 2013 to be awarded the Certificate in Post-Graduate Medical Education from Wolverhampton University.
I have special interests in Restorative dentistry and Orthodontics and in 2010 completed an approved implant course at the Dentale Implant Training Centre.
Away from dentistry I enjoy football , and playing golf..
Simon King
I graduated from Birmingham University in 1990 and after working in the Potteries for several years eventually joined Shelton Dental in 1994,becoming a partner in 2005.
My interests include treating nervous patients utilising intra- venous sedation techniques.
I enjoy cosmetic dentistry and have successfully completed the implant placement course at the Dentale Implant Training Centre.
Rizwan Ahmed BDS
I graduated at the Univeristy of Liverpool in 2007. I began my Vocational Training year at Shelton Dental Centre and remained as an associate in 2008. I have been at the practice now for 10 years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
Having been at the same practice for all these years has allowed me to develop a great bond with all my patients and it has been very satisfying to see so many friends and members of the same family. It’s a pleasure to get to know so many of you beyond a dentist-patient relationship.
Over the past couple of years I have taken further training to develop my love of aesthetic dentistry. I now provide high quality cosmetic work and will continue to pursue this passion in the coming years.
Since being at Shelton Dental Centre I have got married and have been blessed with 3 beautiful children, 2 boys and a girl. My time outside dentistry is dedicated to spending time with my young family.
Babitha Salahudeen
I graduated in 1999 from Mangalore University, India and worked in Maxillofacial surgery before started practicing as a general dentist.
I passed the statutory exam of the General Dental Council in 2006 and have been working as an associate dentist at Blurton Dental Centre since 2007.
I have successfully completed part 1 of MJDF exam and intend to complete the MJDF in due course. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and have a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Outside dentistry I enjoy cooking and spending time with friends and family.
Beata Stasiak
I graduated from Warsaw University in 1994. I have worked in Poland as a general practitioner before joining the friendly team at Blurton Dental Practice in 2005.
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry with special interest in prevention of oral diseases and restorative dentistry. Due to my previous career in Poland as a pediatrician, I like working with children of all ages.
The most rewarding part of the job to me are the beautiful smiles,and the satisfaction of my patients.
Outside of work,I love to explore the world, so I enjoy reading books and traveling.
Stuart Tomkinson
I graduated from Liverpool University in 1974 and passed my exams for Membership of the faculty of General dental practitioners in 1997.
I joined Shelton dental in 1975 and have been a partner since 1978. I have been appointed for the last number of years as a Vocational trainer with the Mersey deanery and the West Midland deanery in order to train newly qualified dentists.
My special interests within dentistry include all aspects of aesthetic dentistry and regenerative techniques. Outside of dentistry I enjoy racket sport, walking and ski-ing.
Sara Paul
After graduation I worked for 2 years in hospital in the department of oral and maxillo-facial surgery in order to gain further surgical experience.
Since then I have worked locally as a general dental practitioner for 5 years before joining the team here at Shelton Dental Centre. Dentistry can be a daunting experience for some people, so I strive to make the patient experience as pleasant as possible.
Receiving positive feedback from my patients makes me enjoy delivering dentistry. I have a special interest in surgical and cosmetic dentistry and aim to further my knowledge in these fields.
Outside of dentistry I enjoy traveling and spending time with my young family and my friends.
Nilofer Husain
I graduated in 2012 from India,and was working there before passing my registration exams here in UK.
I successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons exams in 2015 and hold MFDS RCS Edinburgh.
I strive to deliver high standards of care and keep myself up to date with current materials,techniques and practices through various courses. In future I wish to broaden my knowledge in cosmetic dentistry and sedation techniques.
Madhavi Konduru
I am a dentist at Blurton Dental Centre where I work from Tuesday to Thursday. I do my best to make my patients as comfortable as possible and clear their apprehensions about dental treatment.
My nurse and myself are empathetic to our patients and continuously strive to meet their expectations.
I accept both NHS and private patients. I have a special interest in restorative dentistry, in which I have attending specific courses after my under-graduation. I practice continuous professional development and aim to specialise in implants.
I love travelling and reading books if I get any spare time from my children.
James Plant
IGraduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Manchester I then trained and worked in Birmingham for a further two years before returning to my hometown of Stoke-on-Trent. It has been great to be working where I was a patient myself since childhood and I’ve enjoyed getting to know my patients over the last few years.
I enjoy all aspects of Dentistry and believe that effective communication is key to good treatment. My focus is to keep my patients mouths healthy offering both NHS and private treatment options including cosmetic White fillings, crowns and veneers, tooth straightening (transparent aligners) and tooth whitening.
Outside of dentistry I support Stoke City FC regularly attending games (pre covid!) And enjoy playing tennis, travelling and the outdoors.
